The Safe Touch program will be presented to your child next week.  The presenter will teach the class about the three R’s of keeping themselves safe; Recognizing, Resisting and Reporting on abusive touches.  Using puppets, songs, and discussion, they will teach the children to say “NO”, get away, and tell an adult. TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Congratulations to Mrs. Mary Lois Knisely for becoming Teacher of the Year for 2008.  Mrs. Knisely is our librarian/media teacher who has been with Dos Rios for over 20 years.  She has been instrumental in our children's education.  Mrs. Knisely is also infamous for all of her volunteer work she puts in around our community.  Her best friend and pal Denali (a Siberian Husky) visit many locations to service the public.  They volunteer at Northern Colorado Medical Center, Platte Valley Juvenile Detention Center, Dos Rios Elementary School, and other locations where their services are needed.  Both of them together make our staff and students at Dos Rios feel loved and appreciated.  We are extremely lucky to have Mrs. Knisely as a teacher here at Dos Rios.
