February Newsletter
Dear Parents or Guardians,
Our students have been working hard to read and write and are preparing to show what they have learned on our upcoming CSAP tests. Third graders take the Reading CSAP on February 17th and 18th. Let’s make sure the students have a good night’s sleep and attend school on those days.
The remaining tests for 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will take place in March. We appreciate your support by encouraging homework completion as well as allowing students to stay after school for extra help.
Remember, there is no school on February 15th due to President’s Day. Parent Teachers conferences are right around the corner on March 2nd and 4th. We hope you have scheduled a time for your conference.

Noticias para Febrero
Estimados padres o guardianes,
Nuestros estudiantes han estado trabajando bien duro para mejorar su fluidéz en lectura y escritura. Se están preparando para demostrar lo que han aprendido en nuestras pruebas próximas de CSAP. Los estudiantes de tercer grado van a tomar la prueba CSAP de lectura los días 17 y 18 de febrero. Favor de aseguran que los estudiantes tendrán suficiente sueño, buenas noches y asistan a la escuela en esos días.
El resto de las pruebas para los 3ro, 4tos y 5tos grados ocurrirán en marzo. Apreciamos su ayuda por la terminación de las tareas que han mandado los maestros cada noche, y así como permitir que los estudiantes permanezcan después de la escuela para la ayuda adicional.
Recuerden, no hay escuela el 15 de febrero debido al dia de presidente. Las conferencias entre padres y los profesores comenzarán los días 2 y 4 de marzo. Esperamos que usted ya tiene un tiempo para su conferencia. Gracias otra vez por su interés y apóyelo en la educación de sus niños.

TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to Mrs. Mary Lois Knisely for becoming Teacher of the Year for 2008. Mrs. Knisely is our librarian/media teacher who has been with Dos Rios for over 20 years. She has been instrumental in our children's education. Mrs. Knisely is also infamous for all of her volunteer work she puts in around our community. Her best friend and pal Denali (a Siberian Husky) visit many locations to service the public. They volunteer at Northern Colorado Medical Center, Platte Valley Juvenile Detention Center, Dos Rios Elementary School, and other locations where their services are needed. Both of them together make our staff and students at Dos Rios feel loved and appreciated. We are extremely lucky to have Mrs. Knisely as a teacher here at Dos Rios.
